Benefits to Being a Member

The benefits reaped from joining a fraternity are almost too many to list. During your time as an SAE, you will hone your leadership skills, excel in academics, and undergo tremendous personal and professional development. There is no environment that better prepares you for the world after college than one in which you are surrounded by a group of your peers striving towards a common goal. This goal is the betterment of the individual.

“It is the purpose of Washington Alpha of Sigma Alpha Epsilon to provide an environment for the development of the individual’s potentials, desires, and ambitions in the following areas: Academics, Fraternal Spirit, Individual Interests and Achievements, Moral Integrity, Responsibility and Leadership, Social Maturity” – Est. 1960

Not only will will SAE provide you with the opportunities and resources to prepare yourself for life after college, but with a close-knit, lifelong brotherhood. The relationships you will build here and the memories you will make will be strong, meaningful, and will be ones you’ll draw on for help as you venture through your adult life. But these relationships span much farther than the brothers from your undergraduate years.

SAE boasts an extensive network of alumni, especially in the greater Seattle area. While serving as an active of the Washington Alpha SAE chapter, you will receive guidance and support from our outstanding group of alumni. They are an excellent resource for personal and professional development, and can provide advice that will change your life.

Recruitment Process

If you are interested in rushing SAE, be sure to contact our recruitment chairs here using the form below.

The University of Washington’s recruitment process for fraternities is informal, meaning that you can begin rushing at any time during the summer, or during the school year. Simply contact our recruitment chairs and schedule a house tour.

The benefit of the UW’s recruitment process for fraternities is that you have ample time to decide which house you wish to sign. Be sure to think carefully about your choice, as membership is for life.

Leadership Roles

Active members of SAE enjoy a variety of ways to become involved in leadership roles, and are often taking leadership roles outside in IFC and ASUW as well. From philanthropy chairs to president, there is always a way in which you can become an integral part in bettering both the chapter and yourself. Our positions are decided via a general election by the chapter, meaning that honesty and dependability are key.
